One of the cabins we stayed at was surrounded by farmland. We met the owner of the cabins who tended the land, along with many other animals. This man lived with horses, mule, donkey, sheep, chickens, peacocks, llamas, buffalo, and a dog. Though they bred freely, none of them he used for food, and rarely did he sell any of them. Just an animal lover, I guess.

Bryce Canyon National Park

The second part of our trip took us to Bryce Canyon. What struck me here was the light and colors that came off the rock structures. Hiking around offered many different views and angles as light and colors changed throughout the day. This place is known as the Bryce Amptheater. It is the largest collection of "hoodoos" (spikey rock structure) in the park.

Probably my favorite part of Zion was the Narrows. You literally hike in a canyon river that takes you down narrow passageways and gives amazing views and colors of the canyon walls. These pics are taken on the path to the entrance of the Narrows, just before you have to get wet.

At the top! I didn't make it all the way to Angel's landing. That's where the trail narrows to about 3 feet in some places and the drop-offs become more dramatic. Only a bolted chain aids you in climbing any further. The views were still incredible.

These were taken on a HOT day, hiking up a trail that led to Angel's Landing. It's a popular hike in Zion with sheer drop-offs and narrow paths that take you up over 5,700 feet.

Zion National Park

Took a trip with the fam last September to explore Southern Utah for a week. We went to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. Both places were different, yet amazing in their own rights. I highly recommend these parks to anyone looking to frolic around the great outdoors. I rented a few lenses for the trip and definitely used them to the fullest. Probably took over 1200 photos in all. Too much to see....
